چکیده
Abstract Establishing and operating a harmonized sediment monitoring system along large rivers such as the Danube River is challenging international task. As an element of system, new site with state-of-the-art instrumentation currently under development in Upper-Hungarian section River. The station will consist near-bank optical backscatter sensor horizontal acoustic Doppler current profiler (H-ADCP). previous studies showed, suspended concentration (SSC) that continuously measured sensors can significantly enhance temporal resolution transport monitoring. However, plumes from tributary inflows upstream alter detected concentrations, eventually biasing load estimation. Such influence likely cross-section planned station, therefore, thorough preliminary analysis cross-sectional variation SSC was performed, based on expeditionary measurement campaigns. Between 2018 2021 24 campaigns were carried out at different hydrological regimes, where physical samplings together fixed moving boat ADCP measurements performed. variability its estimations assessed measurements, after calibrating signal more than 500 samples. Based results, we identified patterns which apparently governed by: (i) actual situation considering both main river tributary, (ii) local morphology. our findings, suggested correction method accounts for above effects, using be reliably converted into total load.

Dual Behavior of Suspended Sediment Concentration in a Regulated River
Better understanding of suspended sediment transport processes allows for better management of both rivers and coasts. Based on field data and sediment transport energy theory, this study presents an analysis on the suspended sediment hysteresis in the Lower Tenryu River of Japan in connection to the channel carrying capacity of suspended sediment and morphological characteristics. The transpor...

The growing population led to greater human need to use natural resources such as sand and gravel mines. Direct removal of sands from the bed river leads to increase suspended sediment concentrations in downstream of harvested area and creates other problems viz. filling reservoirs, change in hydraulic characteristics of the channel and environmental damages. However, the range of temporal and ...
متن کاملRemote Sensing of Tidal Situation by Monitoring Changes in Suspended Sediment Concentration in Surface Waters
Collecting information on suspended sediments concentration (SSC) in coastal waters and estuaries is vital for proper management of coastal environments. Traditionally, SSC used to be measured by time consuming and costly point measurements. This method allows the accurate measurement of SSC only for a point in space and time. Remote sensing from air-borne and space-borne sensors have proved to...
